McWhorter Technologies Chooses Centron To Implement International Connectivity Contract

--Centron's On-Stage, On-Site, On-Call and Leasing Services Provide Customized Solution Across North America, Europe

MINNEAPOLIS, May 27 /PRNewswire/ -- McWhorter Technologies selected Centron to quickly connect its new European offices and Minneapolis data center in order to improve internal communications and accelerate employee training. Centron's international growth enables it to offer end-to-end network solutions throughout Europe and North America.

"Our primary goal was to bring our European offices online in less than a month. We chose Centron because of its speed and capabilities," said Rick Kendzior, network operations manager at McWhorter Technologies. "We made one phone call and then Centron took care of the configuration on both continents, on-time and on-budget."

Based in Carpentersville, Illinois, McWhorter Technologies manufactures resins used in the paint, coatings and fiberglass industries. As part of McWhorter's global expansion, the company purchased new offices in Sweden, Italy, France, Finland and England late last year. To ensure the success of this expansion, McWhorter needed to connect these offices to its corporate network as soon as possible. This short installation schedule offered many benefits including additional time for McWhorter's European employees to test and provide feedback on a financial application the company planned to implement worldwide.

"Maintaining a reliable network among domestic and foreign offices is critical to the success of our international customers," said Richard Soskin, Centron's president and chief executive officer. "By offering one-stop, customized solutions, Centron helps customers such as McWhorter Technologies stay ahead of the competition, at home and overseas."

McWhorter's enhanced network -- consisting of IBM Ethernet/ISDN routers -- builds upon existing ISDN equipment at its Minneapolis data center and the mixed networking hardware at its European locations.

"If we could sum up our experience with Centron in one word, it would be responsiveness," Kendzior concluded.
