Gail Duddy Elected Vice President - Human Resources at GATX
CHICAGO, Dec. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- GATX announced today that its board of directors has elected Gail L. Duddy as vice president-human resources. Ronald H. Zech, chairman and CEO of GATX stated, "Gail Duddy's election to vice president-human resources recognizes a leadership transition of the corporate Human Resources organization. Bill Chambers, who has been GATX's vice president-human resources since 1993, will relinquish his day-to-day responsibilities in order to spend time on issues that will impact the long term growth of the company until his retirement next year."
Ms. Duddy (47) joined GATX in 1992 as director of compensation with responsibility for compensation programs and human resource information systems. In 1995, she assumed the additional responsibility for the benefits function and was named director?compensation and benefits, and in February of 1997, Ms. Duddy was elected vice president?compensation and benefits.
Prior to coming to GATX, Ms. Duddy served as a consultant at William M. Mercer, Inc. where she was responsible for executive compensation, incentive planning and human resource consulting studies. Previously she held positions at Arthur Andersen & Company, Inc. and at McKinsey & Company, Inc. She graduated from the University of Illinois with a bachelor's degree in psychology and earned an M.B.A in finance and accounting from the University of Chicago.
