Centron Inducts Four Employees Into Its Prestigious College Of Fellows

MINNEAPOLIS, March 10-Centron announced today that it has inducted four highly skilled networking experts into its new Centron College of Fellows. This award recognizes those select Centron employees that have consistently demonstrated superior technical expertise and in-depth networking knowledge to their customers.

The company honored Steve Bult, Roger Butorac, Dwayne Hoffrogge, and Gary Meckley as Centron Fellows at a special recognition event held recently in Minneapolis. All of the honorees went through a rigorous selection process, and have demonstrated superior technical knowledge and excellent application of Centron's technology services. As part of this recognition, the recipients receive advanced networking education, participate in industry conferences, and serve as mentors to other Centron employees.

"These four individuals are virtual icons of technical excellence within Centron," said Ken VanDerHorst, Centron's vice president of services. Steve Bult, strategic marketing manager, joined Centron in 1987, and has helped develop and grow Centron's business partner relationships worldwide. Steve helps Centron's enterprise networking customers determine the direction of their networks, and provides assessments of their LAN and WAN environments, including vendors and applications. Steve helps customers customize Centron's networking products and services to meet their business needs, and assists Centron is determining strategic directions for its own products and services.

Roger Butorac, technical support engineer, has been with Centron since 1986, and provides expert LAN/WAN internetworking support to Centron's end user clients. Roger specializes in routed, bridged and switched networks, and has conducted on-site hardware and software training on routers and switches for multiple customers. He is currently providing research and planning services for a large ATM backbone network providing a school district's internet access and distance learning programs.

Dwayne Hoffrogge, mainframe access support specialist, has over 14 years of experience at Centron. Dwayne specializes in SNA support for IBM 3745 and 3746 controllers and host attached gateways, providing both remote and on-site technical support to Centron's customers. He is recognized as one of the top technical experts in the United States in connecting channel attached gateways to mainframe enterprise servers. Dwayne also established Centron's Systems Assurance Review process, which helps customers ensure new networking equipment will function as planned with their existing networking infrastructure. Dwayne has successfully completed installation and support work at over 500 data centers worldwide, working on over 1000 IBM front-end processors.

Gary Meckley, director of consulting, has been with Centron for well over a decade, and has consistently executed various management roles and projects within Centron with a high degree of technical expertise. Gary manages Centron's nationwide team of Network Planning Consultants, who provide customers with objective planning and design services through the application of the best networking tools, knowledge and experience in the industry. He most recently developed Centron's Capacity Planning Service, which helps customers identify the resources needed to carry current and projected volumes of network traffic, and maintain network connectivity and performance for mission critical applications.
